nlcc biographical brief

New Life Community Church (NLCC) was first formed in 1988 with the adoption of a Constitution and by-laws on March 29. The first official Worship Service of the newly-planted fellowship was on Easter Sunday, April 3, 1988. On November 10, 1995, we became federally incorporated as New Life Community Church of Petawawa (Inc.) We built and assumed occupancy of this present building on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2000.

We are an independent church, in the sense that we are autonomous and self-supporting, all revenue being derived from those who belong to the church and are partnering with it in the fulfillment of its objectives. Although we are an independent church and not part of a denomination, we nevertheless value the larger Body of Christ, declare our dependence upon it, value its members and its ministries, and thank God for the way He has used the distinctiveness of each denomination in the historic past.

We are affiliated with an international network of churches known as “Catch The Fire,” or CTF as we refer to it. We share in common with this global network of churches a passion to see revival and awakening occur throughout the whole earth. We long, as the scriptures declare, “To see the glory of God cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.”

“Catch The Fire” was birthed in Toronto in 1994 when a wave of revival hit the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship. Out of that visitation by God, the international network of churches, Catch the Fire (formerly known as Partners in Harvest), was born.

The leadership of NLCC is comprised of two groups, and is governed by two leadership teams, the CLT, the Church Leadership Team, which is the recognized spiritual leadership of the fellowship, and the CMT, the Church Management Team, which has oversight of the day-to-day operations of the assembly. Those who form the CLT also serve as directors of the Corporation of New Life Community Church of Petawawa Inc.

Since our inception it has been our desire to function as a New Testament Apostolic Church, as found in the Book of Acts, united as one Body, empowered by a vital prayer ministry, solidly founded on the inerrancy and authority of God’s Word, manifesting the gifts of the Holy Spirit, making disciples, and aggressively involved in fulfilling The Great Commission as mandated by Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, in Matthew 28:19-20
